Acupuncture

Acupuncture, a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a more than 2000 year old form of medical treatment. In this Chinese form of therapy very slim needles will be applied into acupuncture points of the skin and left there for 10 to 30 minutes. Only sterile, disposable needles are used.

There are over 360 regular body points. Additionally there are many extra points and over hundred ear points. By needling of these points the organism is stimulated to balance itself. Traditionally acupuncture regulates the life energy, called "Qi" (pronounced "Chi") in Chinese.

A more scientific explanation how acupuncture works states that the organism reacts to the needle prick with distribution of endorphins, endogen opioids, that causes over the nerve tracts a reflective stimulation of the self healing powers and with this to a stabilization of disturbed organ function and other functions.
